.. now comes with a tutorial for advanced students, the quilt looks more complicated than it actually zu nähen ist, allerdings besteht er fast nur aus den unbeliebten Y -Nähten. In diesem Tutorial werdet ihr einige Tipps bekommen wie man trotz der Furcht vor dem Buchstaben Y, diesen wunderschönen Quilt nähen kann.

Conehead oder Blumen Quilt Part 1 pdf file 1,41 MB
oder hier/ or here
You need:
1 Jelly Roll or 1 bali pop or about 40 x 2.5 "wide strips
1.5 use these rulers are also found in German stores, such as here at Quilt Quilt Mania
(- -2 yards background fabric as solid in nature, snow or similar the stripper-Rulers by Marti Michell : 60 ° diamond and 60 ° conehead)
You will need :
a jelly roll or a Bali Pop or 40 x 2.5 "wide strips
about 1.5-2 yards of your favorite background fabric, for example solid nature or snow or whatever you'll prefer .
Marti Michell's templates Strippers ;-))) (for the quilt you will need to use: 60 ° and 60 ° diamond Conehead)
now we get to the first cuts:
(if you want to make d. first edge of the strip the screw, you have studied about 6 times out as one color, dark stripes and puts them aside)
how to cut the first pieces:
(if you want to create the first border using the strips of your Jelly Roll so please save about 6 wherein the dark and tone on tone patterned fabrics.
The quilt consists of 40 full and 8 half the flowers, so cut ever from the various strip 48 x out of hexagons.
The quilt helped contains 40 full sized and 8 coneheads, cut out 48 hexagons from the different strips.
a big help this little grip here, then slipped the mask on the substance and not one has better control of the ruler ;-))):
very helpful is this Little Gripper here,
Each whole flower has six petals, the whole half and you need 264 Coneheads
Each flower contains six petal shapes, for the fulls and half you will need 264 coneheads:
the templates are perforated in each angle, use the holes to place dots onto conehead your backsides and you will know where the stitches will start and end ..
this:
now it goes to the sewing machine: The flower, right place at the Hexagon and from one point to the next stitch. The stitches ALWAYS back !!!!!!
now it's time for sewing :-) Lay the petal right side down on the hexagon and sew from one point to another. It is very important to secure the stitches Sun dont't forget to do it each time!
then it looks like this: it looks like this
:
then proceed with other pages as well, it goes faster if you proceed as in the photo below.
repeat this procedure like on the picture below:
nun wird es etwas fummeliger:
this part is a little bit tricky :
die andere Blüte ein wenig nach hinten schieben damit man da nicht reinsticht:
put the sewn conehead a little bit backwards:
das ist super:
this is good:
...und das NICHT!
...this is NOT!
nun kommen die Seiten dran:
now it's time to sew the conehead sides together:
you put together the two sides to clear d. Hexagon a little out of the way:
lay the both sides together, put the hexagon a bit away:
sew and repeat the process with all sides (save the stitches of course!):
stitch them together a repeat this each time (do not forget to secure the stitches!):
ironed the flower ever sees this: Front:
press your flower and then it will looks like this: front
Sewing all these Y seams I really regretted that my Bernina doesn't have an automatic thread cutter, the QE's should really have had one!
nun aber weiter mit den Rauten: aus den 2,5 inches breiten Streifen schneidet man 256 Rauten raus:
( jede Blume braucht 6 und die halben je 2)
further with the 60° diamonds, cut out from your 2,5 inches wide background strips 256 diamonds:
(the conehead need 6 and the halfs 2 each time)
mal wieder mit dem little Gripper:
wie es dann ausschaut:
die Punkte werden wieder mal markiert:
mark the insert points again:
dann los: / let's go ;-)))
for more tips to enlarge the photo / please enlarge the photo for further instructions:
then this:
and at this stage is the first flower finished ;-)))) the points are useful later for piecing hexagons, but the flowers marked on the reverse!
and then you will have your first finished conehead ;-))) The insert points are very helpful for later sewing hexagons together the conehead but place the dots on the back side!
need for the quilt to 40 x this block / for the quilt you'll need this block of 40 x
sequel will follow ...
to be continued ....
