| Benötigt wird: | You will need: |
| 1. 1 Jelly Roll and ca. 0,5-1 yard background fabric 2. OR ca.24 light fabric strips and ca. 24 dark fabric strips, 44“ long 3. for the outer border: ca. 25 dark 2,5“ x44“ strips 4. 60° ruler |
first screw, the background material required or strip search for:
Choose your favorite Jelly Roll, background fabrics or strips you want to play with:
iron the strip, a bright strip right place at the right with a dark stripe on both sides together sew (ONLY 1 dark and 1hellen strips aside and NOT sew together because of each be cut every 16 individual dark and light triangles)
iron your strips first and then bring one light fabric strip with dark fabric strip right side in place and sew them on both sides together: (ONLY 1 1dark strip light and would not be stitched together, so save them later then you will need from each 16 single triangles)
become of the strips sewn together using a 60 ° ruler, many triangles cut (* 544 * double triangles diamonds), while the Marti Michell is 60 ° ruler (in the rulers: Strippers included) best: weil. ....... is. explained immediately below
then just go to the top with either the fingers or seam ripper to Help take ;-)
In this way, you are already saves a step ;-)))
from the sewed strips and using your 60 ° ruler cut out many (544 double triangles / diamonds * *) triangles, I preferred to use the 60 ° Marti Michell's ruler (stripper) and I will say the reason why shortly. Open the seam on the points using your fingers or seam ripper.
double triangles -> lozenges
; double triangles-> Diamonds
When you work with a standard 60 ° ruler has one annoying after cutting the ears, one would have to cut later with difficulty, the 60 ° ruler of MM can be right at the ears Crop eliminate ;-), then has to be a lot of sweet Miniherzchen on the mat * ggg *
Always iron against the dark fabric!
You can use your regular 60 ° ruler sewing this quilt but I preferred to use the 60 ° ruler by Marti Michell because your ears can elimnate the pesky dog \u200b\u200bimmediately, just cutting out during the procedure; -)))
Press the seam towards always dark fabric.
if all double has triangles cut out and ironed puts it this way around the mat:
arrange your double triangles on your table:
and as easily folded and sewn, the order is not as important, it is better if they are equal triangles do not repeat each other, again Always iron against the dark fabric:
take the diamonds , Fold up and stitch them together, press the seams toward the dark always fabric:
and then on the ranks, a number entält 17 diamonds (a diamond is made of a light and a dark triangle) + 1 Triangle extra is (equal explained below) The quilt is 32 rows.
stitch together the diamonds in rows, each row contains 17 diamonds (a diamond is made up of one light and one dark triangle) + 1 triangle extra (will explain it below) The Quilt contains rows 32nd
in each row depending on the sequence kommt links oder rechts 1 extra Dreieck ( in hell oder dunkel), deshalb sollte man sich am Anfang die 2 Streifen beiseite legen.
At the beginning or the end of each row , according to your rows, stitch either light or dark triangle to :
, so the back looks like:
the back side :
who ALWAYS has pressed against the dark fabric, it is then easier to sew the rows together as the dark triangle tips "go smoothly" easier in the light into it ;-) )) The peaks with Pins fix every time.
it's easier to stitch the rows together when you pressed the light fabrics toward the dark because the points of the dark triangles would slip into the light points nicely, you need to pin the points: ALWAYS!
sew row by row, which might best five-step is easier.
Stitch the row by row together, it's better to stitch sewed five rows first and then sew those to the next five rows
;-)))
if you have sewn all the rows together, the two sides, taking into account the 1 / 4 "seam allowance, straightened. Who among you like to recycle please throw away the Übrigbleibsel NOT simply looks on (veeery bottom of the post) what you can do with it ;-)))
PS and if one of you do not have the remains like ... well ...* I * could ggggg die sehr gut gebrauchen würde mich sehr darüber freuen ;-)
when you are finished and all your rows are stitched together, trim the both sides by leaving 1/4“ seam allowance . If you like recycling projects do not throw your left overs away...just see below what did I make using them ;-)))
dann hat euer Top eine Größe von ca: 40 "x 64"
your top will measure approx 40 "x 64"
I then sewed each case by and by the dark stripes on the long side and then on the short, alternating. In order to bring the quilt to an adequate size on the sides each 4 strips and attached top and bottom each with 3 stripes. You can also use the meter ;-))
You can menage your top however you like, I have sewed on the both sides four strips and length on both short sides 3 strips each time together but of course you can cut out the borders and outer borders from your favorite yardage.
Have fun sewing! Happy Sewing!
